In the residential area, we have developed projects and PUDs with a diversity of unit types, from low-income single-family and mid-market garden apartments to high-end suburban homes and luxury condominiums. The development of hotels has become a core competence for the Interlink team.
In 1997, with a group of partners, we participated in the development of Hotel El Convento in Old San Juan, a 65-room boutique hotel in a 360-year old former convent. In 2006 led a group of investors to develop the 503-room Sheraton Puerto Rico Convention Center Hotel, the first LEED-certified hotel in the Caribbean which opened in 2009. It has since been recognized with two consecutive AAA 4-Diamnond awards (2010, 2011). In 2008, we broke ground on the St. Regis Bahia Beach Resort, a 139-key beach-front luxury hotel within a breathtaking natural setting. It opened in 2010 on time and on budget.
Interlink has been a pioneer in the development of resort communities in Puerto Rico. The Caribbean’s beauty and natural settings have provided us with the platform to develop world-class resorts such as Bahia Beach Resort and Golf Club, a 500-acre master-planned resort certified by Audubon International as a Signature Sanctuary. It is home to the St. Regis, a Robert Trent Jones Jr. golf course and luxury residences; and Las Casitas at El Conquistador Resort, the luxury accommodations of the El Conquistador, developed in two phases (Phase I in 1995 and II in 2005) under a condo-hotel structure.
